Srila Prabhupada
On His Appearance Celebration
September 1, 2002
In the Brahma-samhita it is said that the Lord is never to be found by becoming a great scholar of the Vedic literatures, but He is very easily approachable through His pure devotee. In Vrndavana all the pure devotees pray for the mercy of Srimati Radharani, the pleasure potency of Lord Krsna. Srimati Radharani is a tenderhearted feminine counterpart of the supreme whole, resembling the perfectional stage of the worldly feminine nature. Therefore, the mercy of Radharani is available very readily to the sincere devotees, and once She recommends such a devotee to Lord Krsna, the Lord at once accepts the devotee's admittance into His association. The conclusion is, therefore, that one should be more serious about seeking the mercy of the devotee than that of the Lord directly, and by one's doing so (by the good will of the devotee) the natural attraction for the service of the Lord will be revived. - Srila Prabhupada
Simply by associating with a pure devotee, one becomes wonderfully advanced in Krsna consciousness. Sadhu-sanga, or association with a devotee, means always engaging in Krsna consciousness by chanting the Hare Krsna mantra... but he whose heart is contaminated sees things differently. Therefore by sat-sanga, or association with devotees, one becomes perfectly pure in heart.

Srila Prabhupada writes
"The basic principle of the living condition is that we have a general propensity to love someone. No one can live without loving someone else. This propensity is present in every living being. Even an animal like a tiger has this loving propensity, at least in a dormant stage, and it is certainly present in the human beings. The missing point, however, is where to repose our love so that everyone can become happy? That missing point is Krishna, and The Nectar of Devotion teaches us how to stimulate our original love for Krishna and how to be situated in that position where we can enjoy our blissful life."
Let us dedicate our lives to cultivating the one true well wisher,
the genuine Spiritual Master, who can invoke the
eternal blessings of Srimati Radharani on our behalf!

Giving Thanks - Memorial Day weekend filled our hearts with joy at the hundreds of devotees that travelled from across the country to hear His Holiness Romapada Swami and His friends inspire us with classes glorifying ISKCON and His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada.  We had the pleasure of joining an awesome crew of cooks and servants who hosted a transcendent weekend. My personal favorite memory is watching the children serenade the milking cows with the Hare Krishna Mahamantra as the mommies sauntered to the milking barn. Thank you Maharaja for bringing such a dedicated and determined group of devotees to Gita Nagari.

Prahlad, Gauri, Locana, and Shyama get settled in Gita Nagari - As we mentioned last week, we received four new members to our core team.  Prahlad Prabhu has begun his service of milking the cows, rotating the grazing of the herds, managing the property, and leading his family in a life of Spiritual adventure at Gita Nagari.  Gauri Prabhu has committed to home schooling their children and guiding their enthusiasm for new adventures in the Holy Dhama.  Locana made many new friends this past weekend with the children of the devotees who attended Romapada Swami'sretreat.  Shyama is exploring everything in his new surroundings.  His unbridled curiosity is a joy to behold.  In the past, Prahlad Pr. has put on many outreach programs in South Africa and is quite interested in nature and natural healing.  He started and maintains an incense company to help support his service goals.  Gauri Pr. was the leader of a very potent Sankirtan group in South Africa.  She also practiced Medicine in South Africa.  Recently, she has developed workshops in natural childbirth.  We are very excited to learn from these new team members.  Prahlad Pr is a disciple of HH Devamrita Swami, and Gauri Pr is a disciple of HH Giriraja Swami.  Please stop by to welcome them into the larger Gita Nagari family.

Have a wonderful Krishna Conscious Week!!!
