Our News July 15, 2016

An amazing week!!!
The first in a series of Spiritual Warrior campsconvened last Thursday at Gita Nagari.  Nandisvara Prabhu and several fathers guided 10 young men in a weekend of positive learning and fellowship.  From learning to build their own shelters, how to build and safely manage a fire in the outdoors, how to interact in kind and supportive ways with peers, learning from pros like Jagannatha Pandit das and Caitanya Kisore das how to resolve conflicts peacefully, how to serve Krishna and the devotees, and have a blast at the same time, these young men transformed before our very eyes.

The Snana Yatra Festival was celebrated at Gita Nagari Sunday, July 10.  Our amazing community bathed Lord Jagannatha, Lord Baladeva, and Lady Subhadra amidst joyous and heartfelt Kirtan.  We then circumambulated the Temple three times in ecstatic fellowship lead by Sachi Priya and Devaki Prabhus.  We then ate the remnants of a feast offered to Their Lordships.  Very special cakes were offered to Mothers Yasoda, Syama Gopa Rupa and Anasuya to honor their birthdays and express gratitude for their exceptional contribution to our community and for their love and care.  Their affection as Mothers reminds us of the famous ISKCON painting of Krishna's birth ceremony where Mother Yasoda bathes Krishna in Gokula.
Please join us nightly at 7:15 pm to serenade the Lords as they convalesce in their room before the Ratha Yatra.
Today, July 13, 2016 is Incorporation Day – let’s reflect on our 50-year history

By Romapada Das
Today, 13th July 2016, is the Incoporation Day of ISKCON. This is the actual day that ISKCON came into existence as a legal entity in 1966 in New York. Srila Prabhupada had signed the incorporation documents on 11th July, but the Certificate of Incorporation came back with the date of 13th July – hence this was the day that ISKCON was officially born.
This day is one to feel immense gratitude to Srila Prabhupada for his compassion in establishing ISKCON. Many devotees and temples around the world are celebrating this day as a ‘Day of Gratitude’ with special offerings to His Divine Grace.
On this day, we want to reflect on the history of our tradition, the legacy of our movement and the achievements of Srila Prabhupada.

Srila Prabhupada celebrates Ratha Yatra Festival

You are cordially invited to help us celebrate the most joyous festival where Lord Jagannatha, Lord Baladeva, and Lady Subhadra come out of seclusion to ride their Rath Cart.  This is a wonderful opportunity to serve Their Lordships and make immeasurable spiritual progress in the association of devotees.  Simply by seeing The Lords on their cart one's sinful reactions are relieved.  Please join us to feast, dance, chant, and meet new and old friends at the farm.
We are asking that you support our efforts to raise funds by contributing laxmi to cover our many expenses.  The Team here is hard at work/service preparing a Food Court as a means to both serve the devotees and raise much needed laxmi.  Please stop by and enjoy our Ahimsa Curd steaks, Tofu steaks, freshly made French fries, ice cream bars, sodas, and chilled water at the Yoga Studio.  We will also tempt you with colorful and attractive clothes and devotional items at our Gita's Gifts booth run by Jhulan yatra devi dasi.  Kesi-Mardana das will take your orders for dairy products from our certified dairy and assist you in supporting our Amazing Oxen and Cows by adopting one of our herd.
We will also ask your help to rehabilitate the grazing pasture we use for car parking by making a small donation after you park.  We need to raise $1000.00 to reseed and cultivate the area where we park cars. WE LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR ASSOCIATION!
