Our News July 28, 2016

On Saturday, July 23d, 400 devotees gathered at Gita Nagari to celebrate the 40th Ratha Yatra at the farm.  We had a wonderful day serving Lord Jagannatha, Lord Baladeva, and Lady Subhadra and Their Devotees.  Many travelled from far distances to worship Their Lordships with joyous kirtan, dancing, and feasting. They came from Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, and all parts of Pennsylvania.  We were honored to host HH Jayadvaita Swami, HH Bhakti Vinoda Swami, and HH Radha Raman Swami.  Our entertainment included bhajans with Anusha and Anirudda Prabhusand their friends.  Anusha brought her violin Guru and a fellow student, Sweta, to join in a lovely violin concert. Krsna Prasad das shared bhajans, and Amritha wowed us with an amazing dance performance.  Ajamila Prabhu emceed the program and did a masterful job.  The children of all ages joined together to toss water balloons, have a three legged race, and contest a water carrying relay.  Our log sawing contest was a huge success with the winners sawing through  their log in close to one minute.  What teamwork!
Of course, Lord Jagannatha and His Brother and Sister were the stars of the day as they came out of seclusion to give each of us an opportunity to pull His Cart up Govardhan Hill back to Vrindavan.  Even temperatures close to 100 degrees could not deter the Devotees from lovingly serenading the Lords.  Our food court served curd steaks made with Gita Nagari milk, fresh baked bread, French fries, samosas, brownies, pastries by Jambhavati Prabhu, sodas, and lots of love.  The Main Feast, lovingly prepared by our Anand Vilas, Madan Mohan and Shyam Govind Prabhus was gratefully honored by the devotees.  Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of you who contributed to this heart warming event.  Please make plans to join us next year.

Gita Nagari Spelt is harvested - We are grateful to share that a good harvest of spelt came off the fields last week - we have organic spelt that will be turned into flour at a local mill.  The stalks that are left behind and baled and make great bedding when spread for our cows to rest on during the winter months.  Here is a Farmer friend helping us combine the spelt.
Have a Wonderful Krishna Conscious Week!!!
