Down on The Farm!

His Holiness Devamrita Swami spent the last week in Gita Nagari.  He invited the devotees to share Krishna Katha each evening, and many of the surrounding community joined the Temple residents in His inspiring talks.  Our friends from Philadelphia, Toronto, Newark, New York city, Denver, and Newburg stopped by to hear Maharaja remind us that our real happiness exists in using our senses to please Krishna's senses.  We are most grateful for a GBC that cares so much for the fulfillment of Srila Prabhupada's vision for Gita Nagari.  Thank you Maharaja for your support and instruction.

We have enjoyed several nice rain showers these past few days.  However, we are still way behind in our hay production for the winter supplies.  As a result, we needed to buy hay from one of our local farmer friends to feed the cows now.

If we can work together to collect $2000 to purchase hay to get us through the summer, all of our farm residents, and certainly Radha Damodara would be so happy.  The drought is part of the challenge of living off the land, and we need your help to keep our dear cows fed nicely. Cow Protection
Sage Vasistha has said in the Valmiki Ramayan:

" As the pious deeds of an intelligent person are never separated from him, the cow that awards happiness cannot be separated from me. My performance of sacrifices and my livelihood are dependent on the cow.  My knowledge regarding the Vedic literatures is under the shelter of the cow."

Sage Vasistha continues,

"The cow is the past and future.  She nourishes the health of all living entities, and she is the root of prosperity.  The piety one achieves from feeding a cow is never destroyed.
