India Visit: It has been an exciting and eventful month since I last spoke with all of you. I had the great privilege of going away on a two week break with HH Devamrta Swami Maharaj - he takes exceptionally good care of me and I am always grateful to him for extending himself in this way. I spent time in Navadwip/Mayapur on parikrama with him and HH Niranjana Swami and HH Sivarama Swami. I am grateful for this “recharge”. I am especially grateful to the team here in Gita Nagari who had to carry more services while I was away - they are incredible in every respect!
Thanksgiving: Onto some more exciting news - I am told that we had a wonderful Thanksgiving gathering. Thank you to Haricakra Prabhu and Mother Yasoda and their daughters for being gracious hosts this year and to everyone in the community who made this event very special and sweet. Was great to have Avadhuta Prabhu and Mother Agnihotra back, not to forget Dharma Das:). It was an absolute pleasure to also have Mother Sri Isopanisad back in Gita Nagari after many many years. She came with Hari Prabhu and Mother Sowmya and their family. We did miss Kate and Ekayani and a few others who had to reschedule. It was extra special to receive Mother Preeti and her children - she came bearing gifts for Sri Sri Radha Damodar and the devotees, especially after hearing about the fire - thank you so much! And My Vyas, a dear well-wisher also sent wonderful gifts for Sri Sri Radha Damodar and the devotees after his trip to Vrndavan - thank you too!
Hurray! And now onto something that fills our hearts. Our dear 11 year old Yamuna who attends Sacred Heart School in Lewistown had her picture submitted for a themed project called: “Put Christ back in Christmas” selected to be a billboard! Here is the picture! Her principal Dr Maginnis and teachers are always complimentary of her and Dr Maginnis went on to say to Mother Krsna Presthaya that Yamuna is a wonderful representative of the Hare Krsna Community. Amina, Omar and Mayapurcandra are also doing exceptionally well at Mifflin County Christian Academy, being principle-centered representatives of Srila Prabhupada while excelling in academics, music and Bible Studies! Please bless them to continue to grow and advance in their Krsna Consciousness.
Good Bye: We said some very sad good-byes too: Ariel arrived in Gita Nagari in April with the intention of staying 2 weeks and never left :). She is now traveling to Melbourne for 3 months. Krsna Prasad prabhu and Mother Radha Prasad spent 3 dynamic months with us and I am personally grateful to them because by their participation here was I able to take that 2 week break in Mayapur. All the devotees and especially the cows will miss these 3 wonderful devotees very much.
Ox Training: Mothers Krsna Presthaya and Radha Prasada have steadily pioneered the ox training here in Gita Nagari! When you stop by, you will see our very well trained oxen in action!.
Visitor: Our latest esteemed guest was Her Grace Malati Prabhu - she is very kind and merciful to all of us and spent some quality time with all of us - Thank you!
We are close to 2015 and I look forward to sharing reflections of 2014 with you in the coming issues of our newsletter. Thank you everyone for your consistent support and love!
Visitors: It has been a busy week at the farm. We had the good fortune of hosting HH Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaj, who inspired us on the global varnasrama mission. Yadunandana Pada and Sudajiva Prabhus were also in Gita Nagari and we held enlivening conversations with our dear friends Yogindra and Sonia Balhara, on additional residential development.
Warm Cows: The cows are warm and comfortably situated in their respective barns and are being well fed. We continue our ox training and heifer training, and are making good progress.
Training: We had more Deity Worship Training, beginning with learning and practicing arati to Srila Prabhupada. This time together, learning and sharing, reminded us of keeping a humble and grateful heart while being connected to a potent parampara.
The team here is awesome - everyone is willing, positive, happy, energetic and committed to fulfilling relationships with each other - we are all feeling very inspired and grateful.
Food and other things: We look forward to your support, those of our friends local, at the annual Pennsylvania Foodbank and Pantry Thanksgiving fundraiser this Saturday from 6pm onwards in Harrisburg. We are honored to be sponsoring a themed basket for one of their raffles. And please also visit our Gift Shop and stop by for some Cheese Special.

Sanctity of Sanctuary
Meigs County, Ohio, in the foothills of Appalachia, is the home of renowned herbalist Paul Strauss. Paul has rehabilitated land left bare by strip mines and has helped to create the United Plant Savers Sanctuary to preserve endangered medicinal plants. He is visited by herbalists from all over the world and holds classes on his 300-acre organic farm. Paul’s vision and transformational leadership have attracted like-minded people to purchase land in the area. These tracts of farms are joined together by a community walking trail that has turned into an eco-tourist destination called “The Talking Forest Medicine Trail.”
Paul is a charismatic person with wonderful stories to tell and has been referred to as a walking encyclopedia of plants. This feature documentary speaks to a man’s passion for nature and his marriage to the earth. This film is an igniting of the green spark and a call to living a sustainable life!
